Based on the first in a series of six novels by American author 
Barry Eisler, Shiina Kippei plays a half-Japanese assassin named John Rain who’s forced to serve as bodyguard to the daughter of one of his victims (Hasegawa Kyoko) who is thought to hold the key to exposing high-level governmental corruption.
Rain is a former member of the U.S. Special Forces. While serving in Vietnam, he was betrayed by a man who later became the head of CIA operations in Tokyo, William Holtzer (Gary Oldman). With nowhere to run, Rain depends on a trustworthy former adversary and Keisatsucho (Japanese FBI) agent named Tatsu (Emoto Akira) when he needs guidance.

TIPS ni buat elo2 yg pingin badan atas/upper body keren…asal jangan kekurangan tidur dan makan gak teratur, entar loe pade capek aja…soalnya otot lo terurai lagi karena diambil tubuh.

For two months the recruits will undergo a comprehensive training programme which will push them to their psychological limit. Spy training will consist of tests, missions and challenges based entirely on those used by international intelligence agencies. The recruits will learn to rely on nobody but themselves.
The final mission for the 3 remaining spies is a impromptu business trip abroad where they are taken to an unknown destination, met by a ‘contact’ and given 2 days to complete their mission – obtaining photographs of information in their target’s hotel room. They must gain access to the documents, photograph the information and leave undetected. The spies will then meet with their contact again to hand over the information they have obtained. After they have completed their mission with varying degrees of success the recruits will fly back to the UK.
Ten hour-long episodes were originally produced. The show was then recut into a series of 15 half-hour episodes. Broadcasters in some markets air the original series, while broadcasters in other markets air the other.

This movie gives a very sobering account of the Soviet-Afghan war from the Russian point of view. It’s good to remember that western countries are the ones who funded and equiped the Afghan mujahedeen to fight against the Soviets. In those day these Afghan warriors were looked upon as brave and courageous. But sometimes history has a way of coming back and biting one on the back side. The current conflict in Afghanistan involves the U.S. and NATO up against fanatics similar to the ones the Soviets had to fight.
